Q. Who runs Northampton Marina?

A. Northampton Marina is operated by the Environment Agency (EA).

Q. Do I need a licence to moor at Northampton Marina?

A. Yes, you need to have either a valid EA registration or Gold licence.  EA visitor and annual registrations can be purchased from the marina along with navigation keys. A valid Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) certificate and insurance certificate must be provided if applying for annual registration.

 

Q. Do you have moorings at any other locations?

A. Yes, please visit the moorings section of our Anglian Waterways website.

Q. Is the site secure?

A. Yes, the site is fully enclosed and pedestrian access is gained using a digital key fob which is issued to moorers only. The site is also covered by CCTV.

Q. Are pets allowed on site?

A. Yes, but please familiarise yourself with our site rules.

Q. Where can I park my car?

A. Short-term parking within Becket's Park is available. There is a time limit of 30 minutes to allow you to load/unload your boat or to drop off passengers.  For long-term parking there is St. John's or Nunn Mills Road car parks just a short walk away. These car parks are operated by Northampton Borough Council and are charged for locally. Full residential and mixed use mooring holders can apply for a residents car parking permit with the council.

Q. What facilities are on-site?

A. We offer wifi, showers, toilets, laundry room, elsan, pump-out and waste disposal on-site, with water and electricity supply to each berth.

Q. What facilities are close by?

A. Northampton Marina is situated close to the edge of Northampton town centre and is just a short walk to many restaurants, bars, theatres, museums, shops and banks. Morrisons supermarket is in close proximity as is Northampton General Hospital and Northampton University, which has a post office on site.

Q. Can I purchase maps from you?

A. Yes, Environment Agency maps can be purchased from our office for £3 each and selection of other maps are available.

​

Q. Can I have my post delivered to site?

A. Only full residential mooring holders are permitted to receive post. Post for non-full residential mooring holders delivered to the marina will be returned to sender.

​
